To be tasty and fragrant, this tart must respect the strawberry season which runs from May to September. It is made from a sweet or shortbread dough, cooked with almond cream and then covered with a diplomat cream, flavored with vanilla and kirsch, on which fresh strawberries are placed, cut into strips.

The little story

The strawberry was imported to France in the 18th century by Amédée François Frézier, a French botanist and navigator, during a trip to South America. He brings back five plants of a new variety of strawberry. Some plants begin to be cultivated after crossing with European varieties, in Plougastel, in the middle of the 18th century.
